Montenegro Visa Requirements
British citizens do not need a visa for holidays to Montenegro for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Any time you have spent in Montenegro during the previous 180 days counts towards this 90-day limit.
Make sure your passport is stamped when you enter and leave Montenegro. The dated entry stamp can help avoid any problems about the length of your stay in the country.
Passport Validity for Montenegro Travel
Your passport must be valid for the entirety of your stay in Montenegro. It must also have a ‘date of issue’ of less than ten years before your arrival date, and an ‘expiry date’ of at least three months after the day you plan to leave.
Other Key Entry Information
All visitors must register with the local tourism office or police within 24 hours of arriving in Montenegro. If you’re staying in a hotel or certain holiday lets, the staff or owner will register you, but if you’re staying in private accommodation, you must make sure to register yourself.
You can bring a reasonable amount of medication for personal use into Montenegro for up to six months. Prescription medication containing narcotics must be declared to customs on arrival, and you can only bring up to 30 days’ worth of this medication, complete with a prescription or doctor’s certificate issued within the previous 90 days.
If you’re sailing into Montenegro, you should enter at a designated port or harbour. If this is not possible, contact the local harbour master or police before entering the country.
