At the base of Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler sits the grand Fairmont Chateau Hotel. This tastefully designed ski, golf and spa resort is an all year round destination perfect for families, couples and friends alike and offers spectacular views over the impending mountains and charming village of Whistler.
There are 550 rooms at the hotel including Guest Rooms, Suites and Speciality Rooms. The Deluxe Valley Room provides a comfortable lounge with breath- taking vistas whilst the Moderate Room is ideal for couples with its cosy atmosphere and bathroom window seat. The Junior Valley View Suite is perfect for families with its luxurious bedroom and cosy parlour, separated by French doors, providing ample floor space.
With six diverse restaurants on site at the Fairmont Chateau there shouldn't be a grumbling stomach in sight. The Wildflower serves breakfast, dinner and even Sunday brunch in the holiday seasons whilst the Grill Room offers fine dining including scrumptious steaks and fresh seafood. For the little ones, the Whistler Family restaurant has child friendly dining and those under five years eat for free when an accompanying adult purchases an entrée.
This hotel really has it all; tennis courts, a golf course, indoor and outdoor pools, bicycle and ski Storage and babysitting facilities if you're itching to ditch the kids and hit the slopes. The Health club and spa provide a tranquil environment to work out or relax in and the outdoor heated lap pool has underwater music (which kills our recent innovative idea of 'waterproof headphones' - imagine knocking out laps to Chariots of Fire - well now you can).
With more than 8,100 acres of skiable terrain between the two magnificent mountains (Whistler and Blackcomb) the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is the ideal basecamp for an exhilarating ski adventure. Ride the gondola between the two peeks for magnificent views of the mountain ranges or take a full or half day guided tour available for skiers of varying ability. There really is something for everyone here with beginner ski and snowboard classes for novices, kid's programmes for the little ones and two day extreme free-skiing excursions for the diehard professionals. Whistler isn't a ski only resort though as the summer season makes great use of the outdoors in alternative ways. From mountain biking, to hiking to mini golf and bungee trampolines there's an array of activities to keep guests busy.
