Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Dar es Salaam, typically taking between 13 to 15 hours, transiting via Kenya or the Gulf en route.

On arrival the following day, you’ll be met and escorted to a light aircraft for your flight northwest into the heart of Serengeti National Park. Touching down on one of the park’s remote airstrips is an experience in itself, and wildlife is often spotted nearby. On landing, meet your lodge guide and transfer to camp, where the afternoon will be spent at leisure. Relax, settle in and take in your luxurious African surroundings.

The Serengeti is one of Africa’s most celebrated national parks, famed for its vast open plains and extraordinary wildlife. While the annual wildebeest migration passes through the northern reaches between July and October, this remarkable landscape supports an abundance of animals year-round, including elephants, rhinos and lions, to name just a few.

Spend the next two days exploring with expert guides, heading out on twice-daily game drives timed for the best wildlife activity in the early morning and late afternoon. In between, there’s plenty of time to relax back at your lodge, soaking up the epic views, enjoying the comforts of your surroundings and indulging in a little spa time. Depending on your choice of lodge, optional activities such as birdwatching or visiting a local village can also be arranged.

After a final early morning game drive, it's time to say goodbye to the Serengeti’s wild and wonderful landscape. You’ll be driven to the airstrip by your guide before boarding a light aircraft flight back to Dar es Salaam, followed by a short onward flight to Zanzibar.

Arrive on the island later today and transfer to your hotel, where a slower pace and the lure of the Indian Ocean mark the start of the beach-focused chapter of your journey.

With sublime stretches of white sandy beaches and azure sea lapping its shores, it's hard not to fall in love with Zanzibar. Over the next four days, settle into island life with sand underfoot and a sea breeze in your hair. Time here is yours to spend as you please – whether that means doing very little at all or dipping into one of the many watersports on offer, from kitesurfing and waterskiing to snorkelling and diving among colourful coral reefs. With excellent visibility and thriving marine life, the Zanzibar archipelago is well suited to both first-time divers and seasoned pros.

As with any respectable beach holiday, cocktails and good food are essential. Thankfully, Zanzibar has you covered with a melting pot of flavours and gastronomical influences. Expect fragrant Indian spices, freshly caught seafood and tropical fruits, best enjoyed alongside a sunset cocktail overlooking the ocean.

For a change of pace, head into Stone Town, the island's historic and cultural heart. Lose yourself in its narrow streets, explore the Old Fort and browse the small boutiques and markets before sampling the street food found on every corner.

Wave goodbye to Zanzibar today as you transfer by light aircraft back to Dar es Salaam. From here, board your overnight flight home to the UK, bringing your Tanzanian adventure to a close.

Arrive back in the UK the following day, full of fascinating tales from your trip.
