Route
London to Antigua
The family adventure begins on your direct flight from London to Antigua. Taking just under nine hours and flying through the day, we recommend making sure the iPads are charged and topped with the children's favourite box sets.
You'll arrive mid-afternoon when your driver will be waiting to meet you for a private transfer to your luxury, all-inclusive hotel on the east of the island.
Take the rest of the afternoon to unwind after your flight and let little legs burn off any pent-up energy on the private sandy beach.
Out on the Water
We've chose a family-friendly hotel that feels almost designed for watersports and sailing, with steady onshore winds and a reef about a mile out to sea protecting the bay. Whether your family are a merry band of regular sailors or you're ready to have a go for the first time, your resort offers complimentary use of a core fleet of keelboats, RS Qubas, Hobie Cats and kayaks. Newbies should take full advantage of the complementary sailing lessons held twice a week which are suitable for the whole family. There's a friendly and helpful sail training and safety team on hand to help you out every step of the way and they're well versed in looking after children learning to sail or kayak for the first time. Optional extras include additional tuition, equipment and support for kitesurfing, kiteboarding, stand up paddleboarding and windsurfing. Sailing outside of the included group lessons is offered by a specialist school which operates from the resort beach.
Relax and Play
With three pools and a private beach at hand, you'll have plenty of opportunity to relax and play together as a family. There's complementary snorkelling gear for you to use in the clear waters of the bay, plus daily trips to nearby islands for snorkelling beautiful coral reefs.
If you're looking to spend some precious grown-up time together (or if the children want to play with someone their own age) then take advantage of the complimentary childcare available both morning and afternoon. There are numerous activities for young travellers to get stuck into and it's the perfect opportunity for you to sneak in some pampering time in the spa.
Explore the Island
Set your sights further afield today and hire a car to take the family exploring around the island. Stop off at one of the 365 beaches (yes, really) such as Ffryes Beach on the south coast, or head to the English Harbour and Nelson's Dockyard area which has plenty of restaurants to explore plus nearby favourites Pigeon Point Beach and Galleon Beach.
If you have older children, we recommend heading into St John's, the main city on Antigua, for Heritage Quay shopping, St John's Cathedral and the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda.
Antigua to London
Even though you're flying back to London tonight, you've got almost a whole day together before you need to head off to the airport. Let the children make the most of their last few hours on the beach or in the pool and (hopefully) tire themselves out so that they'll sleep on the eight-hour overnight flight home.
Arrive in London
Your direct flight lands back in London in the early morning.
