The beaches are as good as any in the Caribbean, but it's Jamaican culture - from reggae to Rastafarianism - that provides the island's secret sauce. On the subject of secret sauces, you have to brave the spicy jerk chicken sauce perfected over generations in many restaurants and rum shacks across the island. Then work that off on guided walks along beautiful trails through the Blue Mountains, whose peaks make Jamaica one of the hilliest islands in the Caribbean, and which are home to coffee plantations where you can sample another Jamaican staple.
