In the heart of heady Marrakech, a few steps from the medina walls, there sits a serene oasis of rustling leaves, birdsong and the cooling mist of water fountains. The painter Jacques Majorelle fell in love with the city, and in the early 1930’s he invested in a palm grove path and built one of the most beautiful villas imaginable. The villa is a stunning vision of both Moorish and Art Deco architectural
styles and sits surrounded by land that has been lovingly cultivated into the Majorelle Gardens. Blending Islamic garden style with a hint of impressionism, the garden plays with shape and colour to compose a changing atmosphere every few steps. More than 300 species of plants and singing birds bloom around the cobalt blue house, making Majorelle Garden holidays a soft and shaded escape.
