We regret that we are currently not selling trips to Cuba. We hope for a swift resolution to this issue so that we can once again help you discover this beautiful destination.

Spend your first few days in Cuba, where after settling into your hotel, Havana is yours to explore. So as not to miss a single thing, we can arrange three different ways to explore the city. The first with a private guide, focusing on the history and architecture of the Cuban capital, the second with an expert local guide for an insider's experience of the city, and the third at sunset in a vintage American car.

As for the relaxing part of the holiday, you can decide on the pace for the days spent in your Caribbean hideaway:
swimming in turquoise waters or lazing around by the pool, exploring archaeological sites or diving in cenotes (collapsed limestone caves). We can also reserve a table for you in the evening at one of the best restaurants in Tulum. While in Mexico, you’ll have a rental car for cruising around, complete with GPS navigation and useful places to visit. And if, along the way, you want to make changes to your route or ask for recommendations, our on-site Concierge will be on-hand throughout your trip.

Route

Everything is 100% tailored to you
DAY 1

FLIGHT TO HAVANA

Your Cuba and Mexico medley begins today with a flight to Havana. After landing, collecting your bags and clearing customs, you’ll be greeted by our local representative before being privately transferred to your hotel in Vedado, Havana's number one residential and art district. Drop your bags, freshen up and head out for a preliminary explore of Cuba. Our Concierge are on hand to help if you can’t decide where to eat or what to do.

DAYS 2 to 4

VIBRANT HAVANA

You’ll spend the next few days exploring rainbow-hued Havana. ‘The Key to the New World’, as Havana is known, is a UNESCO World Heritage city and has retained architecture as flamboyant as its inhabitants. Head out with an expert guide to discover the ancient history that this city boasts.

Havana is like an open-air museum, with its weather pastel hues and rich history as well as classic American cars and dance music blaring from every bar and café. It is also home to some of the most beautiful monuments and museums in the country. A great way to get the feel of the city is to take a tour in the footsteps of a local, allowing you to see so much more than people usually see. Wander through local neighbourhoods, the 'huecos' of Vedado, the markets, alleyways and hidden gems, different neighbourhoods full of contrasts and surprises. Even peer into artists' workshops and abandoned theatres where young musicians enjoy jamming sessions. It is a chance to really understand day to day life in this vibrant city.

There’s no better way to see this city in all its glory than in a retro American car at sunset. Meander through Vedado, the Malecon and the residential areas of Miramar, Siboney and Almendares Park, where you will be able to spot Chevrolets, Fords and De Sotos, all left over from the booming car industry in the US in the 50s. Watch as Havana’s pastel-hued buildings glisten gold as the sun hits the horizon, before seeking out one last delicious meal in this pretty city.

DAY 5

ONTO TULUM

Today you will be privately transferred to the airport where you will hop on a flight to Cancun. Pick up your hire car and head to Tulum on the Riviera Maya, with its ancient Mayan fortress and pristine beaches. Once you’re settled into your hotel and have freshened up, head out to explore the palm-fringed sands, crystalline waters and colourful culture.

DAYS 6 to 8

BEACHSIDE BLISS IN TULUM

Time for the beach. Spend the next few days enjoying the comfort of your hotel and discovering your surroundings at your own pace. For a bit of activity amid the sunbathing sessions, discover the cenotes by bike. Cycle through lush Mayan forest and discover the unique landscapes and delicate ecosystems that surround these limestone cenotes. Explore the beautiful caves that are home to ancient stalactites and even enjoy a dip in the cool waters of an open cenote. For a splash of culture, head into Tulum, which boasts a wonderful combination of Mayan architecture and nature. It's ancient fortified city, Zama, the 'City of Dawn', originally had two functions: as a port and as a ceremonial centre, so wander round taking in all of the city’s history.

If you want to hit the water, sail through the mangroves of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve and see what flora and fauna you can discover. Our Concierge can also arrange anything from yoga sessions and archaeological tours to monkey watching and jungle zip lining. And of course, there is always the option of doing nothing at all, except casually sauntering from beach to garden, pool to hammock and restaurant to bar. It's up to you. Our Concierge can reserve a table at one of Tulum’s most delicious restaurants; picture open-air kitchen, pergola covered tables and a patio fringed with swaying palms.

DAYS 9 & 10

HOME TIME

Today you’ll drop the car off at Cancun Airport and catch your overnight flight home, arriving the next day.

A la carte

SALSA IN HAVANA

Born between Puerto Rico and New York, salsa is Cuba's pop music: its origins draw on Cuban rhythms, such as cha-cha-cha and mambo. It obviously takes a lot of practice to dance like the young Cuban couples in the clubs, but with an introduction, pick up the basics and share the dance floor with the regulars.

HAVANA BY NIGHT IN A CLASSIC AMERICAN CAR

The 1950s were the economic boomtime in the United States and saw the growth of the motor industry. At the time, Cuba was the holiday destination for many Americans who had a second home there. In 1959, the year of the revolution, there were 300,000 American cars on the island, some of which remain today. Chevrolet, Cadillac, Dodge, Pontiac, De Soto: these American classics are part of the landscape here. Cruising through Vedado, along the Malecon or Almendares Park in the back of one of these beautiful American cars gives a whole different view of the capital of the Antilles...

PUNTA LAGUNA RESERVE

This precious reserve is in the middle of the jungle, on the border between the state of Quintana Roo and Yucatan. People come mainly to try to see spider monkeys but also to meet Mayan communities living in the heart of this natural environment. Punta Laguna is also home to impressive lagoons and cenotes with translucent water, and the lush jungle can be explored by bike, canoe, or zip line. Access to the reserve and the various activities on offer aim to develop 'community tourism' by putting the profits back into local communities so that they can continue to grow and protect the area.
