Koh Samui is an island of beautiful beaches, but possibly the finest of all is home to the Four Seasons Koh Samui.
There are 73 villas and private residences, either on the beach or on the hillside, and all with al fresco living space, private infinity pools and wonderful views of Laem Yai Bay, the island of Koh Phangan and the Gulf of Siam.
Another large pool sits beneath coconut trees besides the private white sand beach, where Four Seasons attendants provide guests with ice water and chilled towels. Very thoughtful.
There are two restaurants at the hotel including Lan Tania the flagship restaurant serving delicious Thai and Italian cuisine and Pla Pla, which sits right on the Gulf of Siam and serves supremely fresh fish with spiciness according to your taste. Meat and vegetarian options are also available for non-fish and non-curry eaters! Between Pla Pla and the pool, the Beach Bar serves up mean cocktails to fresh juices. For anyone wanting to eat in, you can enjoy your own private BBQ with a chef to grill your favourite foods to order.
The Spa has treatment rooms in five salas or covered verandas where nurturing treatments and holistic remedies are available. For the more active-minded, the hotel has two pleasure cruisers (one 66ft long and the other 36ft long) which can be charted to visit the nearby white sand beaches of Koh Phangan island.
The Four Seasons Koh Samui is a fantastic option for families, and the complimentary Kids For All Seasons programme offers a variety of games and activities at the Kid's Club, planned and carried out by highly trained attendants. Four Seasons wanted to maintain a sense of destination when they established their Samui resort, they did this by building the hotel around the coconut trees that make up a coconut plantation. The abundance of coconut trees create a huge amount of privacy and character on the resort.
