Banyan Tree Phuket resides in Bang Tao Bay within the larger resort of Laguna Phuket, an area encompassing five miles of beautiful beachfront. This is elegant five star Thailand just showing off.
Accommodation is a village of 150 Thai-style villas on the shores of a saltwater lagoon, each with a private walled garden, pool and timber sundeck. Inside, villas boast his-and-hers dressing areas, floor-to-ceiling windows, king-sized beds and authentic wooden accents. Enquire further for additions to suit your needs, whether it's a fully-equipped kitchen, personal chef, open-air sunken bath or even your very own private in-villa spa complete with floating bed pavilion amid lily ponds. See, showing off.
There are several dining options available around the resort, upgrading the usual dinner decision from one hard-to-narrow-down menu to many. Saffron is Banyan Tree´s signature restaurant serving traditional Thai cuisine in a contemporary setting. The Banyan Cafe specialises in international snacks and café fare with views over the golf course. Watercourt open-air restaurant in turn looks across the lagoon and is the place to enjoy delicious Asian & American breakfast buffet until late morning, and a variety of a la carte dishes with a wide selection of Andaman and imported seafood in the evenings. Tamarind Restaurant can be found in the tranquil surroundings of the Banyan Tree Spa, aptly serving healthy options. However, for the most private of settings, dine on board the long-tail boat in the lagoon or even in-villa with an extensive menu and 24 hour service. The Pool Bar serves snacks but is mainly a pit stop for summery poolside cocktails, while the Lobby Bar & Wine Rack is a more formal cocktail and champagne bar.
Banyan Tree has all the facilities you'd expect from a top of the range international hotel chain - and more. The family pool feels like it could have been designed by kids with its jet cannons, water rapids and swim up bar. But if that all sounds like too much, there's also a dedicated children's club at hand should you wish to find solace among the plush loungers at the lap pool. The spa's Eastern therapies and tropical garden setting made it the first luxury oriental spa in Asia and, with 25 treatment rooms, you won't have to wait long. Guests who just want to relax can also dabble in meditation, tai chi, aqua toning, Thai cooking classes or batik painting, while the more active venture out for water sports, diving, rock climbing, golf, elephant trekking, deep sea fishing and jungle safaris. You better get scheduling!
