Set on powder soft Grace Bay, The Gansevoort feels like a little slice of South Beach Miami transported to relaxed Caribbean shores.
Perhaps it's the influence of city slicker sister hotels Gansevoort Park Avenue and Gansevoort Meatpacking in NYC that have added a bit of U.S. cool to this beach front hub, or the fact it's just a ninety minute flight from Miami itself, but the Gansevoort certainly stands out from its Grace Bay neighbours as the place to see, and be seen.
And they've got the balance just right; subtle poolside tunes playing from day to evening and live music on Friday nights which compliment a calming colour palette of white and blue and an endless stretch of white sand beach - at the more secluded end, no less - ensuring that the Gansevoort remains a spot to kick back and chill.
Studios and Suites sit within twin beachfront buildings, most with ocean views and private balconies from which to enjoy them. Studios include Kitchenettes, whilst Suites boast full kitchens and bathtubs. For groups of friends, the Penthouses are a perfect option, with wraparound top floor terraces, three Suite bedrooms, and a spacious lounge.
Stelle restaurant is currently undergoing renovation, but is sure to emerge from her cocoon with a funkier décor, and larger bar (we know, we've seen the plans), whilst the beachside Zest serves light bites and snacks around lunchtime, and cool beers and cocktails well into the evening.
The Exhale Spa offers a range of treatments to soothe travel weary bodies, whilst the gym and fitness studio are on hand for the more fitness conscious guest. A range of water sports are available at the beach, including snorkelling gear, paddle boards and hobie cats, and the Coral Gardens snorkelling trail is just a ten minute amble down the beach. The efficient concierge team can also arrange a host of day trips, from island hopping to scuba diving.
Why we love it
A very cool hotel on one of the Caribbean's best beaches, and the perfect choice for those who like a little buzz with their beach.
