Acclaimed as the highest hotel in Africa, Simien Mountain Lodge has 20 en-suite bedrooms and is situated on the edge of the Simien National Park.
The restaurant is a spacious area with a log fire, serving international fare. Activities include walking with guides in the Simien Mountains, Mountain biking, excellent bird-watching and visits to local community projects and schools in the area.
Trekking in the Simiens has been the main activity for a long time. Once up on the escarpment, it is possible to walk through forests and over grassland for hundreds of miles. There are a series of short day treks, or you can trek to the summit of Ras Daschen which normally takes about 6 days. Other more modest treks go to Imet Gogo, Bwahit and the camp sites of Geech, Sankabur and Chennuk.
