Bale Mountain Lodge is a lovely eco-lodge well, well off the beaten track in the heart of central Ethiopia in the Bale Mountain National Park.
The Lodge is all about the wildlife thanks to its prime location and the abundance of flora and fauna in the vicinity, including 60% of the remaining population of Ethiopian wolves - the world's rarest carnivore. If that isn't enough to tempt, there are over 240 species of bird, warthogs, Mountain Nyala antelope and Bale monkeys.
The lodge has 11 boutique bedrooms, all thatched and built with stone and mahogany. All the rooms will have a wood burning stove just to make it that little bit more cosy. This being an eco-lodge, all the furniture is sourced and made locally using sustainable wood and materials.
Aside from wildlife the lodge has its own plunge pool with a natural waterfall spilling into it and fantastic views.
The Park is a birdwatcher's paradise and has been rated '4th best birding site in Africa' by the African Birding Club.
