Why do you love Japan so much?
Having lived in both the East and the West, including spending time in Tokyo and Hong Kong, Japan has always felt very personal to me. What I love most is the level of dedication people bring to whatever they do. When did you first visit Japan and what was your first impression?
As a toddler – on a family trip to Tokyo Disneyland. Throughout my childhood, I visited different parts of Japan on family holidays, guided tours and road trips. Even from a young age, the hospitality and politeness left an impression. Train staff, restaurant staff and shop assistants would all bow and everywhere you go is clean and orderly whether it’s a big city or a small village.
