Route

Everything is 100% tailored to you
DAY 1

Benvenuto in Italia!

Your tailor-made family holiday to the radiant city of Rome begins today. After a morning flight, you will be privately transferred to your hotel right at the heart of this historic city. Drop off your bags, grab your camera and some comfy shoes, and set off for an initial exploration of this Italian gem. You will be able to properly experience and learn about the main sites of Rome during the following two days, but there is nothing better than setting out into a new city with no plan or time limit - so go and lose yourselves in Rome's magical streets this evening.

First, and most importantly, head straight for a panino, gigantic bowl of carbonara or a pizza in an authentic restaurant which we can help you choose (we know how to avoid the tourist traps and overpriced menus).

Be sure to pause for a refreshing gelato during the afternoon. Then, after walking off (at least some of) your lunch and ready to rest your feet, indulge in an early family supper whilst watching the sun sweep low over the city, before slowly wandering back to the hotel for a long sleep before tomorrow's excitement.

DAY 2

Vatican City & Sistine Chapel

Today you will be hitting the ground running on the first full day of your tailor-made family holiday to Rome as you visit the smallest country in the world and set eyes on the iconic Sistine Chapel in all its glory.

Wake up to the beautiful Italian sun and make the most of the pastry and fruit-filled breakfast to satisfy even the most sweet-toothed of travellers, before setting off for today's adventure.

Coffee-lovers may want a quick fuel stop on the way to the Vatican gates (hot tip: if you like a café latte or cappuccino, now is the time to order it, as no self-respecting Italian will let you have a milky coffee past 10am and you'll be stuck with an espresso), where your family-friendly guide will be waiting for you with skip-the-line tickets. This experienced and enthusiastic guide will be able to reveal and explain everything in a fun, interactive and fascinating way for all the family. During the three-hour tour you will discover the Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica, and marvel at the spectacular views from the dome of the enormous Basilica. This tour also includes tickets for the dome's lift, and a game booklet for the children to keep them wonderfully entertained.

After this culture-packed morning, enjoy another authentic Italian lunch and a more relaxed afternoon lying and playing in the Botanical Gardens or enjoying a spot of shopping.

DAY 3

Adventures in Ancient Rome

Today, on the third day of your tailor-made family holiday to Rome, you will travel back in time to Ancient Rome and the gladiatorial combats of the Colosseum. Your expert guide will take you through the history of this extraordinary landmark during an exciting and child-friendly tour which again includes skip-the-line tickets and activity booklets for the little ones. This three-hour exploration also includes the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, leaving the whole brood veritable historians by the end of the day. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening together as a family, making sure you have wandered as many streets, tasted as many gelato flavours and eaten as much fantastic food as possible.
