In the heart of the Fuji Hakone Izu National Park, the rural
town of Hakone sits in the shadows of the iconic Mount Fuji. Due to
its proximity to Tokyo (just an hour by train), many people forgo a
stay and simply visit on a day trip. However, if time is on your
side and you're partial to a bit of country air then we highly
recommend staying for a few nights, particularly in one of the fine
ryokans (traditional inns) in the region.
