The Tennerhof is a beautiful ski hotel on the sunny side of the valley at the foot of the Kitzbühel Horn Mountain, seconds away from the lifts.
Harriet is here to help give you the inside track.
The 39 individually designed rooms and suites at the Tennerhof have a cosy, rustic feel and offer a blend of traditional furnishings and modern comforts. Guest's relaxation and wellbeing is at the centre of the Tennerhof's design and this is reflected in the luxurious rooms and suites, each of which with comfort in mind. Every room, from the single to the family suite, is furnished with antiques chosen from the von Pasquali family collection and has excellent views over the surrounding mountains. Three new luxury chalet suites will be open from December 2017, offering guests the height of skiing luxury, including private saunas, and a complete digital detox.
The hotel is also home to the Spa de Charme, which offers guests an indoor swimming pool, Finnish sauna, steam bath and Jacuzzi and wide range of treatments to ease tired muscles and soothe post-piste skin. The Tennerhof's excellent restaurants serve award winning Austrian cuisine, accompanied by an impressive wine and schnapps list. Guests can also visit the hotel's sister property's restaurant, which serves excellent Italian cuisine, just over the road.
The nearest ski lift is about a few hundred feet away, and the hotel offers a regular shuttle service to the other ski areas in the Pass Thurn region.
Why we love it
This privately-owned hotel has evolved over the centuries from its origins as a Tyrolean farmhouse into its present incarnation as a five-star hotel. In one of its previous lives the Tennerhof was a school for the wayward sons of aristocrats, and played host to Ian Fleming.
