Anjajavy offers many of the highlights and attractions of Madagascar, making it an ideal one-stop shop experience. It is also one of the smartest hotels to stay in on in Madagascar, making it ideal for the more demanding eco-tourist.

Situated on a remote peninsula in the North West and the only Relais & Chateaux hotel in Madagascar, Anjajavy is part of a 450 hectare reserve with four main habitats - a dry deciduous forest with wonderful baobabs, tsingy limestone caves, a mangrove which is the only protected mangrove for over 250km, and beautiful beaches. Within the reserve are found a wide variety of lemurs, reptiles and other endemic flora and fauna.

There are twenty-five air-conditioned villas, each with a large living room, breakfast room and a bedroom which opens onto a large terrace that overlooks the sea. The ensuite bathroom has a bath, a shower and a separate loo. A small stairway leads to a small sitting room with two sleeper-couches for children.

The main complex comprises a bar/restaurant with an exterior and an interior dining room, a swimming pool and two beaches. Land based activities include guided walks to explore the dry deciduous forest, the surrounding private beaches and the fishing villages.

Any walk is likely to be a sort of miniature safari, with sightings of lemurs, chameleons, birds and crabs. Water based activities include kayaking through mangroves, boat excursions to areas of untouched beauty, world class deep sea fishing, waterskiing, catamarans sailing and snorkelling.
