Having sampled some local specialities, let curiosity lead the way on your own exploration of the city this afternoon. Start by visiting the Saigon Central Post Office to see its iconic metal framework. Then, enjoy another dose (sorry) of history at the Fito Museum, dedicated to traditional Vietnamese medicine.
If you prefer to spend the afternoon outside, take a walk along Dong Khoi Street, in the centre of the city. Afterwards, head to the Jade Emperor Pagoda and the Ba Thien Hau Temple.
End your day of discovery at Binh Tay Market, where you can indulge in a variety of local dishes before sinking into bed tonight.
Tuck into a delicious breakfast this morning before grabbing your bags and meeting your private driver, who’ll accompany you for the next four days. Then, embark on the one-hour-and-45-minute journey to Ben Tre, where you’ll be spending the night.
Along the way, stop to see what else the Tra Vinh province has to offer. Start with the peculiarly shaped Ba Om Pond – a 1,640ft long, 980ft wide rectangle of water. Then, stroll to the 10th-century Ang Pagoda, whose golden roof is sure to create an Instagram-worthy shot when the midday sun hits it.
When you reach Ben Tre this afternoon, drop your bags, freshen up and turn your attention towards dinner. On the menu: fresh fish and succulent shrimp (yum).
Wake bright and early this morning to meet your private driver and embark on the two-hour journey to Can Tho. You’ll only be here for one night, so skip the unpacking and enjoy some post-journey stretching instead.
Following a lovely lunch, meet your guide for a private tour of the Vam Xang Orchard, the most famous in the delta. Six miles wide, this lush landscape is home to a wide variety of fruit, including jackfruit, durian, oranges and mangosteens (not to be confused with their shorter-named sisters). Hop on a bike to pedal between the pastures and work up an appetite for lunch.
This evening, return to your hotel to unwind before going back out for dinner tonight – bonus points if your dessert features fresh fruit.
After a tasty breakfast, meet your driver again and begin the three-and-a-half-hour journey to Chau Doc, Vietnam's gateway to Cambodia. Check in for one night, then drop your bags and head out.
After sitting down to a lovely lunch, meet a local guide to observe the routines of the local Cham fishermen before setting off on a scenic hike up Sam Mountain.
Often considered a place of pilgrimage, Sam Mountain is the highest peak in the Mekong Delta. On the way to the top, there are several shrines and temples to see, including Ba Chua Xu, Tay An Pagoda and the Tomb of Thoai Ngoc Hau.

Kick things off with a visit to the National Museum of Cambodia, which houses the country’s largest collection of cultural artefacts. Then, delve deeper into Cambodia’s tumultuous history at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum.
Afterwards, head to the Royal Palace of Cambodia. This ornate site is home to the stunning Silver Pagoda, a Baccarat crystal Buddha and a gold statue of the Maitreya Buddha set with over 2,000 sparkling diamonds. Not too shabby, if you ask us.
This afternoon, soak up the splendour of one last sacred site (well, for today) with a visit to the many-named Wat Phnom Daun Penh temple, located on an 89ft-tall hill. Talk about ending on a high note.
Wake bright and early this morning for the private transfer to the airport, where you’ll catch a 50-minute flight to Siem Reap. When you land, it’s another private transfer into the city to check in for the final three nights of your trip.

Start in the 13th-century walled city of Angkor Thom, home to the central Bayon Temple and its iconic carved faces. Snap some stunning shots here before continuing to the 12th-century temple of Angkor Wat – the largest religious site in the entire world.
As evening nears, head to the nearby temple of Phnom Bakheng to see the sun bathe Angkor Wat in a golden glow. Cameras at the ready – it's time to take that bucket-list photo.
Over the next two days, soak up the sights in Siem Reap. From the stalls of the old market to the nearby UNESCO-listed Tonle Sap Biosphere Reserve, there’s plenty to see and do here – so, without further ado, let the exploration commence.
Between your stints in the city centre, enjoy a half-day tour of the temples of Banteay Srei and Ta Prohm with a private guide.
