The Ionian Islands

These beautiful islands are a dream destination for nature lovers, sailors, beach babies and those who simply want to relax and feel a world away from daily life. Corfu's eventual past is evident in the different architectural layers that make up its heritage, and you could spend hours exploring, followed by a visit to a local tavern for a glass of wine with some freshly-caught shellfish. Next, in Paxos, you'll have plenty of seaside beach fun to look forward to. Head down to the sandy beaches via tree-lined paths and, as you relax on the sand, gaze at the nearby cypress groves or olive trees.

Your hotels in Corfu and Paxos

With a return flight to Corfu and two ferry crossings included,
this journey to explore the best of the Mediterranean is wonderful in its simplicity and we have found the best of the best in both locations. The accommodation we have selected are full of charm and comfort, contrasting authentic and traditional buildings with modern amenities, all alongside incredible service and a homemade breakfast each morning. In Paxos, you will have the opportunity to stay in Torri e Merli, an fabulous 18th-century fortified house, with typical island architecture; the decor, which provides a sleek balance between tradition and contemporary design, alternates with subtle exposed stones and grey-blue plaster (inside, the contrast between the transparent glass and the rock is really something). With its spa, local cuisine restaurant and swimming pool, the values of modern life are in total harmony with the traditions of the Ionian islands. Tea and herbal infusions are served in the basement of the house where the ancient water tanks are carved into the rock. The secret ingredients of the tea is preserved by the wild plant collectors. In the bedrooms, all these elements combine to create a unique and unforgettable atmosphere.

Route

Everything is 100% tailored to you
DAYS 1 & 2

Flight to Corfu

Transfer and two nights' accommodation in old Corfu. The hotel is housed in a 19th-century mansion. The pink-orange facade stands atop a large garden. Inside, in the light softened by light curtains, the house offers sophistication and comfort. The rooms have an air of quiet simplicity; the dining room is charming and the homemade breakfasts are delicious.

DAY 3

Corfu - Paxos

Transfer to the harbour and crossing to Gaios in Paxos. Pick up the rental car and spend five nights above the village of Lakka, in a stunning house boasting typical island architecture. The decor presents a striking balance between tradition and contemporary design, where modern life meets the traditions of the Ionian islands. Tea and herbal infusions are served in the basement of the house where the ancient water tanks are dug into the rock. The secret ingredients of the tea are kept under lock and key by the wild plant collectors. The restaurant offers creative and refined Greek dishes made with local produce, which are either served in the dining room or in the garden surrounded by olive trees.

DAYS 4 to 7

Paxos

Paxos, the island that was a refuge for Poseidon and his lover Amphitrite, was destined to be a secret hideaway, and it still is a hideaway for those who want to get up close and personal with the Greek islands. The island, which is surrounded by crystal-clear waters and covered with olive groves, is dotted with little fishing villages. When you're not immersing yourself in the warm authenticity of your hotel, there are myriad other things to do while you're here, and the many beaches in the Lakka and surrounding areas invite you to take a siesta, go swimming, windsurf or snorkel.
The itinerary includes a day on a yacht around Antipaxos. To the south of Paxos lies its island twin, Antipaxos. A yacht will take you on a journey to explore the coastline of this untouched and uninhabited stretch of land barely a couple of miles long. The word of the day here is definitely 'relaxation'. Let yourself be hypnotised by the sound of waves before you take a dip in the crystal-clear water. A mask and snorkel are available on the boat for exploring the colourful underwater life.

DAY 8

Paxos - Corfu - Return Flight

Transfer to the port of Gaios and crossing to Corfu. Transfer to the airport and return flight.

A la carte

A TRIP ACROSS CORFU

Located off the coasts of Greece and Albania, Corfu has a long and interesting history. Enjoy getting lost in the shaded alleyways near the old harbour and take in the freshness in the avenues planted with acacias. The tour takes you through iconic locations, such as the Kanoni Peninsula and the Mon Repos Archaeological Park that guards the remains of an ancient city in the shade of century-old trees. You will be accompanied by a private guide who will tailor your tour according to your interests.

Optional

WITH A FEW EXTRA DAYS - EPIRUS

Between monumental peaks, dizzying gorges and charming villages, Epirus has plenty to offer. From Ioannina, where traces of the Ottoman Empire are still present, to Meteora and its perched monasteries, to the narrow, sloping streets of Metsovo, the pace of life here is slow. Above the Vikos Gorge and the crystal-clear waters of the Voïdomatis River, you will feel far removed from the hustle and bustle of coastal areas. Steep hills, forests, and rivers are part of a unique natural setting in which villages have seemed unchanged since the 19th Century.
