Spend a long weekend exploring Prague's picture-perfect streets, where art, architecture and history await. Wander the cobbled alleys Franz Kafka once called home, admire the dreamlike designs of Alphonse Mucha and catch a concert, soaking up the music of Antonin Dvorak. Known for its free-spirited lifestyle and excellent craft beer, the Czech capital sure knows how to have a good time. From tucked-away galleries and underground jazz clubs to trendy restaurants and lively terraces, there's always something to uncover.

Your Itinerary

A direct two-hour flight from the UK and a speedy private transfer will bring you to the edge of Prague's historic Old Town, the perfect base from which to explore the city on foot.

Kick off your trip in Vinohrady, where a private guide will introduce you to this trendy neighborhood and its vibrant local life. Here, Art Deco buildings rub shoulders with modern landmarks, including the imposing TV tower. After exploring the nearby farmers' market, grab a seat on a charming terrace, enjoy a refreshing drink and tuck into a buchta (a small, square bread roll).

If you're keen to delve deeper into local life, why not opt for a tour of Holesovice the following day? Once an industrial district, this trendy neighborhood in the north of the city has become one of Prague's cultural hubs. Tap into your creative side at the DOX Center for Contemporary Art, or check out the glass art creations at Lasvit, before exploring the nearby cafes and bars.

You'll also have tickets to the Mucha Museum, where you can discover the work of one of the Art Nouveau movement's leading figures. And with plenty of free time during your stay, you can catch an opera performance, tuck into local pastries, sip a frothy beer in an old palace and enjoy an evening in a jazz bar. Prague is truly your oyster.

Suggestions

Everything in this itinerary is entirely customisable, down to the smallest details. Here are some more suggestions of what could be included

STRAHOV MONASTERY AND THE SANCTUARY OF OUR LADY OF LORETO

Explore Hradcany, home to the majestic castle, on a guided walking tour. Begin at Strahov Monastery, where an extraordinary library brims with Medieval manuscripts, old maps and Gothic, Baroque and Rococo paintings. You can also enjoy a behind-the-scenes experience as your guide opens the doors to spaces usually closed to the general public. Continue to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Loreto, where you’ll discover a replica of the ‘Santa Casa’ (the house where the Virgin Mary lived in Nazareth) and a Baroque church surrounded by a cloister and several chapels. Round off your walk with a stroll through the maze of Medieval streets that make up Stare Mesto, the Old Town.

EXPLORE PRAGUE LIKE A LOCAL

There's nothing like exploring a city with someone who calls it home to truly uncover its secrets. Accompanied by a local guide, you’ll gain an insight into their daily life without the constraints of ticking off all the top sights. On a tour tailored to your interests, you might discover a hidden church, chat to some locals at a cosy bar, or stumble upon a lesser-known viewpoint.
