With an average of 326 days of sunshine a year, Cyprus is perfect for some shoulder season sun. As sweltering summer temperatures are a bit high for the little ones, we’d recommend this trip in either October or May, when you can expect perfect conditions for lounging in the sun.

Spend a week in one of our favourite family-friendly hotels on the island, set in the harbour town of Paphos. There’ll be plenty to keep the children busy, whether it’s watersports – such as waterskiing and sailing – or making new friends in the state-of-the-art kids’ clubs. While the youngsters are being entertained, parents can relax by the pool, sip on cocktails and indulge in a spa treatment or two.

On one of the days, take a break from beachfront bliss to enjoy a morning exploring Paphos with a local guide, finding out about the city’s ancient history and sampling some local delicacies. If you want to explore more of the island during your trip, simply contact our local Concierge, who can recommend some excellent day trips or local hotspots perfect for families.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Bags packed and troops rallied, it’s officially time for your family holiday to Cyprus to begin. Head to the airport, whizz through security and stock up on snacks for the journey before boarding your direct flight to Paphos. You’ll be in the air for around four and a half hours, but don’t worry: the children will have our family fun packs to keep them entertained, so you can sit back, relax and dream of the sunny week ahead.

When you arrive in Paphos this evening, you’ll be met by a private driver for the half-hour journey to your hotel, where you can check in and freshen up. If you’re travelling with very little ones, you’re in luck – the hotel provides parents with a full kit of crucial baby gear, from highchairs to baby lotion (and everything in between), so you don't have to pack the kitchen sink.

Rise and shine for your first full day in Cyprus. Hit the breakfast buffet (no judgement on that second pastry), slap on the suncream and then choose whether to spend the morning on the beach or by one of the hotel’s multiple pools – it’s a tough life.

It can be difficult to find a hotel that works for adults and children alike, but your hotel manages this near-impossible feat. With separate adult and children’s pools (the latter of which is complete with awnings to shade the little ones from the sun), a fantastic kids’ club and multiple restaurants to choose from come meal times, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Spend today exploring your home for the week and all of the wonderful activities on offer here. Come evening, tuck the children up in bed and make the most of the hotel’s babysitting service, enjoying a peaceful dinner just the two of you.

This morning, it’s back to the breakfast buffet to fuel up for a family tour of Paphos with a private guide.

Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site for its ancient architecture and religious significance, Paphos is perfect for exploring on foot. The tour begins with a visit to Aphrodite's Rock, a limestone formation dating back to the Jurassic period. Legend has it that this is where the goddess of love, once worshipped in Cyprus, emerged from the sea.

Then, it’s on to the Paphos Archaeological Park, where you can see remains of Greek and Roman civilisations (the mosaic floors of the Roman villas are particularly special). Continue to Paphos Palace, home to St. Paul's Column, and the Agia Kyriaki and Agia Solomoni churches, both famous for their historical and religious significance.

End the tour in Geroskipou, a coastal village renowned for its loukoum, a traditional Cypriot sweet treat that will be gobbled up by even the fussiest eaters. Yum…

For the next four days, you and the family can relax and soak up some of the glorious sunshine Cyprus is renowned for. While mum and dad enjoy the pampering spa and delicious cuisine, the children can make the most of the various kids' clubs available. There are three, depending on the children’s age – think sports camps, Cypriot baking lessons and even cultural immersions.

Paphos’ shops, restaurants and other attractions are within walking distance of your hotel, so you can head into town for a change of scene whenever you fancy. Perhaps you want to pick up some souvenirs or sample some more local dishes – our local Concierge is on hand to give recommendations for where to go, so the town is your oyster.

We could even arrange a lovely day trip to the Troodos Mountains, where the family can hike along well-marked trails, carefully chosen based on the little ones’ abilities.

Sadly, it's time to head home today, but the good news is that the children can enjoy one last morning splashing around in the pool before heading back to Paphos Airport.

This afternoon, you’ll be picked up by a private driver and driven to the airport in plenty of time for your flight, which will take just under five hours and land back in the UK this evening.
