Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Kick off your Deep South journey with a breezy nine-hour flight from the UK to Chicago, landing in this music hub in the late afternoon. After transferring to your centrally located hotel, dump your bags and grab a bite to eat – you're in Chicago, so it’s only right to seek out the city’s famed deep-dish pizza.

Andy’s Jazz Club is the quintessential Chicago experience – but don’t just take our word for it. On your second day in the city, you’ll head to this famous venue to watch a toe-tapping jazz show. It's a feast for all the senses, with salad, fish, steak and dessert served alongside the music.

We’ve left your second full day in Chicago free for you to explore whatever you choose: check out the iconic mirrored bean-shaped sculpture at Millennium Park; soak up spectacular views of the city from Willis Tower’s Skydeck; shop ’til you drop down Magnificent Mile or seek out the city’s best Chicago-style hot dogs.

Tick off any hotspots you missed yesterday (or revisit your favourite deep-dish pizza spot) because you’ll take the overnight train from Chicago to Memphis this evening. Don’t worry about missing out on shut-eye, as you’ll be cosied up in a private sleeper cabin, allowing you to slip into sweet dreams during the ten-hour journey.

Memphis offers music, museums and more music. To prove it, we’ve secured you tickets to a tour of Graceland Mansion, once Elvis Presley’s home. Immerse yourself in the life and legacy of the King of Rock ’n’ Roll as you journey from his early days in Tupelo to his Las Vegas years. You can even climb into Elvis’ customised jet, named after his daughter, Lisa Marie. It’s an experience well worth a ‘thank you, thank you very much’.

On your second day in Memphis, explore the city at your own pace. The National Civil Rights Museum is a must-visit to learn about Memphis’s powerful place in civil rights history, and the Museum of American Soul Music tells the story of this captivating genre. Round things off with a taste (or two) of smoky pulled pork from one of the city’s renowned restaurants – your Concierge can book you into the best.

You're back on the train tracks today for the trip to New Orleans, nine hours and one state away. After arriving in the city, check into your home for the next four nights – a vibrant hotel in the lively Warehouse District. Drop off your bags and spend the afternoon exploring the nearby flavours, sounds and cultures.

Today, stroll through the historic streets of New Orleans’ French Quarter, accompanied by a guide who’ll transport you back in time through 300 years of history. Experience breathtaking views of the Mississippi, walk down the beautiful streets and learn about the rich history that shaped present-day Jackson Square. Marvel at the various architectural styles and iconic features of New Orleans’ homes, and discover the birthplace of jazz while understanding why music is so integral to this city’s culture.

On today’s jazz cruise, learn why the city’s founders chose the gorgeous crescent of the lower Mississippi River to build New Orleans on. During the journey, you'll enjoy a casual lunch or brunch freshly prepared on board and served buffet-style, along with live narration of historical facts and port highlights. The cruise will also be accompanied by music from Duke Heitger's Steamboat Stompers Jazz Trio, adding a lively soundtrack to your voyage.

The Sazerac House blends history, tradition and interactive exhibits to teach you the rich history behind New Orleans’ iconic drink. Today, you’ll embark on a self-guided tour of the six-storey building, from virtual bartenders mixing perfect cocktails (the drinks are real, don’t worry) to sampling three varieties of Sazerac. Keep the drinks flowing as you settle down for dinner and enjoy one last evening in New Orleans.

Wave goodbye to New Orleans and take to the skies for today’s quick flight to Nashville. After checking into your trendy hotel, you’ll touch down on Tennessee soil at midday, giving you plenty of time to explore the neighbourhood.

Spend your time in Nashville checking out hotspots like Lower Broad on Broadway, a lively street lined with honky-tonks (country music bars) and restaurants. Or head to the Civil Rights Room to see powerful photographs, videos and displays about Nashville’s role in changing the face of America during the Civil Rights Movement.

After the sun sets on your first night in Nashville, we’ve secured you tickets to a concert at the legendary Grand Ole Opry. For any lovers of country music, nothing beats attending this radio-turned-television performance. It’s the oldest in the United States, and it has seen names such as Dolly Parton and Hank Williams grace its stage. Toes will be tapping and hips will be swaying all night long, with the sounds of country music sure to carry on into your dreams.

It’s your last day in the USA, so wake up and feast on an all-American breakfast – you're in Nashville, so be sure to order a plate of spicy fried chicken and waffles. With stomachs satisfied and one last roam around Nashville completed, head to the airport to catch your overnight flight back to the UK, arriving the following morning.

Suggestions

Everything in this itinerary is entirely customisable, down to the smallest details. Here are some more suggestions of what could be included

CHICAGO

Baseball tickets

We can arrange tickets for you to watch the Chicago White Sox play at their home ground. The Chicago White Sox are a professional baseball team founded in 1900, playing home games at Guaranteed Rate Field, which opened in 1991. They’ve won several American League championships, including the World Series in 2005, and have a passionate fan base. The team is known for its rich history and rivalries, most notably with the Chicago Cubs.

National Football League (NFL) tickets

If American football is more your thing, we can line up tickets to watch the Chicago Bears. Game day in Chicago is more than just football – it’s a city-wide celebration, culminating in the unmistakable energy of Soldier Field stadium. As the Chicago Bears prepare to take the field, the streets and lakeside areas around the stadium fill with fans in navy and orange, the scent of deep-dish pizza and Italian beef sandwiches mingling with the crisp Chicago air.

Arrive early to soak up the pre-game atmosphere and join locals in the tailgating tradition: from open lots near the stadium to organised fan zones with music, games and classic Chicago eats. Whether you join a ticketed tailgate or stroll through the lively crowds, you’ll feel the camaraderie and excitement building, culminating in a roar of cheers as the Bears take the field. Just be sure to wear your navy and orange and get ready to shout ‘Bear Down!’ with the crowd.

NEW ORLEANS

Guided tour of the French Quarter music scene with a musician

Embark on a tour with a passionate local musician, as he shares his insights and knowledge of the city with you. Explore the vibrant streets of the French Quarter, where jazz first echoed through the city. Delve into the history of this lively and culturally rich neighbourhood, which gave birth to jazz pioneers influenced by African music, blues and gospel. Their legacy continues to influence the city's artists today.

Your walking tour will last around three-hours, with an important stop for snacks and coffee at the Beignet Café.

National Football League (NFL) tickets

Another city, another sporting opportunity. Few cities know how to throw a party like New Orleans – and that spirit comes alive in full force on Saints game day. Long before kickoff, the city pulses with energy as fans in black and gold take to the streets, marching to the rhythm of brass bands and buzzing with anticipation. Whether you're a die-hard NFL follower or just soaking in the spectacle, the pre-game atmosphere is something special – a true blend of football, festivity and unmistakable Crescent City flair.

Head towards the Caesars Superdome and you’ll find tailgates spilling into nearby parking lots and streets. Locals fire up grills, pass around po’ boys and gumbo, and welcome newcomers with that classic Southern hospitality. For a more organised experience, there are ticketed tailgate parties offering live music, food and drink, and a shaded place to join the action. Either way, it’s not just about football – it’s a full-on New Orleans celebration.

Your ticket is part of the Nashville Attraction Pass, which also gives fast-track access to Nashville Zoo and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Plus, you’ll receive a VIP discount booklet for Opry Mills, which is Tennessee's largest outlet shopping destination (near Opryland and the Grand Ole Opry).

National Football League (NFL) tickets

Game day in Nashville is more than just a football game – it’s a full-blown celebration of Southern pride and live music, with an electric atmosphere. As the Titans prepare to take the field, the city comes alive with fans decked out in two-tone blue, filling the streets and parking lots around Nissan Stadium with cheers, chants and the smoky scent of barbeque in the air.
