Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Sorrento is calling. Head to the airport today for your two-hour-and-45-minute flight to Naples, where you’ll be met and privately transferred to your hotel in Sorrento, the jewel of the Neapolitan Riviera.

Drop your bags, freshen up and head out to explore this pretty cliff-perched town. Wander through Piazza Tasso, the heart of Sorrento, for a spot of people watching while sat in one of the cafés that line the square, or meander around the centro storico (historic centre) – a maze of narrow streets and twisting alleyways – past bustling restaurants and bars.

Feeling peckish? Our Concierge can recommend some of the best places to grab a bite on your first night in Sorrento.

This morning, take a 45-minute private transfer to Pompeii for a half-day tour of Italy’s most famous ancient city. Shadowed by the looming Mount Vesuvius (that both destroyed and preserved the city), Pompeii will transport you back in time – perfectly paved roads, frescoed houses and quaint shops spring to life before your eyes.

Your guide will take you through the Forum, the hub for social life in Pompeii’s heyday; into a pristinely preserved bakery or thermopolium, where locals would buy their food and drink; and finally, into one of the city’s traditional houses, where you can catch a glimpse of what day-to-day life was like for Pompeii’s residents.

After the tour, a transfer will take you back to sunny Sorrento, where you can find a cosy café or bustling bar for a drink or two, before taking in more sights. Highlights include hiking the coast along the Path of the Sirens, taking in the panoramic views from the Il Deserto Convent and exploring Capri’s Blue Grotto by boat.

Today, you’ll have a private driver at your disposal to see the sights of the Amalfi Coast, also known as the ‘Divine Coast’.

Stop to admire Positano from above, with the majolica-tiled dome of its cathedral and picturesque houses clinging prettily to the coast. Drive through Praiano, catch a glimpse of Furore’s fjord and the tower of Conca de’ Marini before stopping in Amalfi. Saunter through its bustling centre and admire St Andrew Cathedral's magnificent facade while deciding which one of the tantalising shops and cafés to browse. Spend time exploring before heading for Ravello, a peaceful cliff-perched village overlooking Amalfi, which has inspired creatives from all over the world, including Richard Wagner and Gore Vidal.

Head back to Sorrento for your final evening in Italy. Sip on home-brewed limoncello and tuck into deliciously fresh seafood as the sun turns the postcard-perfect coast a glowing shade of gold.

Sadly, your whirlwind Sorrento getaway comes to an end today. Enjoy one last Italian espresso and pastry this morning, followed by a little more exploring, before taking a private transfer to the airport in Naples. Pick up any last-minute souvenirs before it’s time to hop on your two-hour-and-45-minute flight home.

Everything in this itinerary is entirely customisable, down to the smallest details. Here are some more suggestions of what could be included

NAPLES

As well as the famous bay in Naples, there’s plenty more to explore in the city. Visit the grand Duomo San Gennaro; tour the San Martino charterhouse-turned-museum, where you can find paintings by Micco Spadaro of the plague of 1656; discover vintage Neapolitan songs on vinyl at the Fonoteca; spend an evening at the Teatro Mercadante; or enjoy an ice cream in one of the chalets along the waterfront. There’s also the archaeological museum, to which Pompeii and Herculaneum have contributed admirable collections, as well as Donnaregina, a museum of contemporary art, and the San Paolo stadium (to name but a few attractions).
