What is the there to do on a Belizean Coast holiday?

While lying on one of the many white sand beaches along the Belizean Coast with a cocktail in hand is one (very tempting) way to spend your holiday, how about instead spending your days aboard a fully equipped catamaran, with the possibility of diving, snorkelling, fishing and kayaking all at your fingertips? This is without doubt one of the best ways to enjoy the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. You may even get the chance to visit the Swallow Caye wildlife sanctuary, which is home to endangered manatees. Meanwhile, most of the best dive sites are an hour or so away by fast comfortable dive boats and consequently are made for perfect day trips. Further inland, the area contains some extremely well preserved rainforest and National Parks, such as the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to rare species such as the red-eyed tree frog, and was created specifically for the elusive jaguar. In addition, many of the towns in this area have a thriving Garifuna (a community of mixed indigenous and African heritage) population, and tours can be arranged.
