Road Trips in the US are almost a right of passage, including the iconic Route 66, and California's Highway 1, but the beach bums among you should fear not, as Florida is the perfect jumping off point for a quintessential and compact US road trip with a Caribbean twist, down in the Florida Keys.
Why we think you’ll love it
The vibrant city of Miami is the jumping off point for sunshine and good times in the Florida Keys. If Florida is a state apart from the USA, the Keys are islands apart from Florida. This constellation of islands is located at the junction of two mighty bodies of water - the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico - and the Florida Keys archipelago contains more than 1700 islands tracing an elegant arc from just outside Miami, all the way to Key West.

The Florida Keys: the Detail
The Florida Keys boast glorious beaches, the sport fishing capital of the USA, and fantastic scuba diving, following the 'shipwreck trail' and exploring the world's third largest living barrier reef. Never more so than in Key West, best defined by its motto - One Human Family - an ideal perfectly suited to a place where anything goes and life is always a party (or at least a hungover day after).

- Marathon Island is home to the world's only vetinerary practice dedicated purely to the treatment of Sea Turtles, and aptly named 'The Turtle Hospital'
- Islamorada is the sport fishing capital of the USA - and arguably the world
