Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum is where the forces of the famed Arab Revolt hid from the Turks in World War 1. Explore the vast, hugely romantic swathes of desert made famous by 'Lawrence of Arabia'. Many of the scenes in the David Lean epic which chronicled the conflict – were filmed in Wadi Rum itself. Join a Bedouin guide (admirably the government insists that only local guides may be used, both here and at Petra) on a 4x4 or camel safari to see ancient rock carvings and explore the dramatic sandstone cliffs.
