Queensland
Australia
Queenslanders will tell you that their state is the best of Australia all rolled into one.
This is the home of some of the world's most treasured natural wonders, such as the Great Barrier Reef and the ancient Daintree Rainforest, and remains one of Original Travel’s favourite places. Within this state is the channel country, the savannah country, Cape York, the Great Dividing Range and the Gulf country.
Southern Queensland is home to the Gold Coast, renowned for its action-packed theme parks, wildlife sanctuaries, championship golf courses and the sophistication of Main Beach.
Heading north are The Whitsundays - 74 incredibly beautiful tropical islands and a fabulous place for boating holidays. Behind all this is the vast Outback, a landscape which seems endless and where every town has a story to tell. There are dinosaur footprints, wildflowers, ancient Aboriginal rock art sites and characters to share a beer with. Far Northern Queensland offers perhaps the epitome of 'the best of Oz' boast.
We can organise trips into tropical rainforests and to the underwater treasure trove of the Great Barrier Reef. Here you can take a walk with an Aboriginal guide or enjoy a private helicopter safari around the Cape York Peninsula at the very northern tip of Australia.
