The Dolomiti Superski area comprises some 800 miles of slopes, including the Marmolada glacier, creating a network that rivals the Trois Vallées in France.

One of the world’s most beautiful resorts, and without question the smartest in Italy, Cortina is a glamorous haven just a couple of hours from Venice. The skiing is ideal for beginners and intermediates alike, with plenty of wide, elegant pistes, while expansive heliskiing should keep the expert satisfied.

Beneath the sheer faces of the Dolomite mountain range, Cortina is the favourite destination for Milanese looking for a ski weekend, and the chance to wander the boutique-lined streets looking as glamorous as possible.

Hotel Ancora is an award-winning and traditional hotel right in the heart of Cortina, complete with wooden balconies overlooking the town’s main square. Most of the charming rooms face south, and are decorated with intricate wood carvings.

The Cristallo is a bigger hotel, situated a little out of town, which has one of the finest spas in the region, and has recently revamped the famous Monkey Club, once the hangout of Europe’s jet-setters.

Arabba’s fortunate position makes it a prime point of access to the famous Sella Ronda, a unique circular skiing route through four mountain passes.

Other activities from Arabba include snow-mobile and snowshoeing excursions through the stunning scenery of the Dolomite landscape, and of course there’s excellent Italian food to enjoy.
