Following an extensive two year restoration, a 250 year old colonial mansion in the heart of Old Cartagena is now the ultra-stylish boutique Tcherassi hotel.
Ollie is here to help give you the inside track.
The first property by designer Silvia Tcherassi, her eponymous hotel is very much a design hotel and, we think, pretty trendy. The seven rooms (including one suite with a private pool) are all modern, stylish, and named after the elegant fabrics from Tcherassi's fashion collection.
The high ceilings and original stone walls hark back to the colonial era, and each room leads out to a balcony with fantastic views. As a design hotel, all the expected mod cons are present and correct, including GHD hair straighteners so humidity hair can be a thing of the past, ladies.
Tcherassi boasts one of the best restaurants in Cartagena, Vera. Meaning 'truthful' in English, the restaurant specialises in authentic Italian food. Adjacent to Vera, and overlooking the lush hote gardens, is Aqua bar, a funky bar serving delicious cocktails in an al fresco setting.
Facilities include a rooftop pool, where there is also a bar serving sandwiches and drinks all day, and a spa. The spa is one of the best in Cartagena, and offers over 30 treatments from massages and manicures to facials. Why not go with the local vibe and try the Deluxe Colombian Coffee Wrap?
