The USP of this luxury hotel is its location; it is wildlife central and totally secluded. Santa Marta is an area for preserving, conservation and reforestation. It is a great option for those who like nature, but don't want to compromise luxury and comfort. With the Tayrona National Park on the hotel's doorstep, guests have access to some of the most simply stunning beaches in the world.
Guests can relax in the hotel's grounds or on a hammock on the beach. The views and choir of insects can create an oasis of Zen for guests looking to truly unwind. Alternatively a massage on the beach or an hour of yoga will really do the trick.
As far as activities go at Merecumbe hotel, guests have a number of secluded beaches and caves to explore in the Tayrona National Park, as well as opportunities for spotting the likes of butterflies, toucans, parrots and monkeys (to name a few). Guests can also explore the river mouth in Buritaca for freshwater swimming and great places to hike and bird watch.
The food is as fresh as the rain water at Merecumbe hotel, all grown locally or caught daily. Their chef, Camila, creates a range of local and international dishes to tantalise those taste buds. The wine list is comparable in quality, and a cocktail or two should be sampled at some point.
