The small volcanic islands of Hawaii have a lot more to offer than just beautiful white sand beaches (although we do admit that these are pretty special). There are some incredible sites to be seen further inland from the shore. Back to the water, and Hawaii is home to one of the top dive spots in the world, Molokini Crater, famous for its crystal-clear water and the 250 odd tropical fish species who call it home. You also can't visit the birthplace of big wave surfing without getting in the water and giving it a go yourself, although perhaps stick to the calmer waters of Waikiki if you're a beginner, and leave the big waves to the professionals.
