Fully renovated in 2008, the hotel has the most comprehensive facilities in the region, including a 1km curve of sandy beach and acres of tropical gardens dotted with palm trees.
Watersports on offer include sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, snorkelling and scuba diving. Boat charters and dolphin-watching trips can also be arranged. On land, facilities include a tennis club, mini golf and putting green, a large outdoor pool and a spa with a gym, sauna and steam room. The hotel's four restaurants offer Asian, French, Italian, and Chinese cuisine, with indoor and outdoor dining, and authentic Omani food is also served in a Bedouin village setting. There is also a pool bar and a piano bar in the evenings.
Children are well catered for with a separate kids' pool, a playground and a babysitting service available.
The hotel now offers a new experience to guests in the form of luxury beachfront camping ("glamping", if you will). The cushion filled, cosy, tents transport Al Bustan's luxury services to the best beach in Muscat. Awake the next morning to enjoy breakfast at the Al Khiran Terrace.
Why we love it
Nestled on the coast just outside Muscat, the Al Bustan has a beautiful location, occupying its own private bay overlooking the Gulf of Oman, with dramatic mountains as a backdrop.
