Where to go in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka could be the perfect destination for a winter sun beach flop, or an intensely cultural exploration of Singhalese heritage, but we think a combination of both makes for the ideal holiday. Colombo is - with love - not the most exciting capital city on the Original Travel books, so probably best to head to the Cultural Triangle, then the tea plantations, the holy city of Kandy, the National Parks of Wilpattu or Yala for wildlife enthusiasts and finally the beaches and Galle on the southern coast. Perfect.
