Where To Stay in Singapore

Villa Samadhi

Villa Samadhi is a boutique hotel built in a restored 20th century garrison. Bustling central Singapore sits only ten minutes away but the property is an ideal city escape thanks to being cocooned inside Labrador Nature Park.

20 rooms make up the hotel each with plush beds, WiFi and iPod docks. The Large suites feature a private outdoor pool and views of the surrounding trees, the Luxe Crib rooms are spacious with four-poster beds and a colonial elegance whilst the Luxe Sarang is a luxury chamber with living room and plunge pool.

When it comes to dining, Tamarind Hill restaurant sits just a two minute walk away (via the boardwalk) where Chef Wanthana Nikonsaen serves traditional Thai dishes using heirloom recipes and locally sourced ingredients.

Guests can enjoy afternoon tea in the lounge, a tipple at the bar or unwind with a book in the library which boats great views of the surrounding Banyan trees. For those wanting to explore further there's a host of attractions nearby for everyone as the history buffs can explore the National Museums of Singapore, the culture vultures can pay visit to Sri Mariamman Temple and the Nature Park serves the recreational.

Why We Love It

The building that Villa Samadhi is housed within was constructed during the nation's colonial days and once housed the army's distinguished officials!

Capella

Capella offers something completely unique in Singapore; set on Sentosa Island, just off the southern coast of the city, it sprawls across 30 acres of verdant gardens and grounds, offering respite from the hum of Singapore's city centre.

There are just 112 rooms in total so the hotel doesn't feel overly large when compared to some options in Singapore. Rooms are sleek, contemporary and well designed with wooden floors, white sheets and views out to either the gardens or the South China Sea. All of the rooms are spacious and benefit from private balconies, but for an even more luxurious stay, upgrade to one of the Villas for your own plunge pool and a separate living area.

At Capella you can enjoy unique culinary experiences in three different dining locations. Try the modern Cantonese cuisine in restaurant Cassia, a refreshing Mediterranean feast at The Knolls, or a luxurious and private meal at Chef's Table. Then, sip Cuban inspired cocktails on the outdoor terrace of Bob's Bar.

With bikes to borrow, this is a great option if you want to get out and about exploring Sentosa Island and central Singapore. City highlights include the stunning Gardens by the Bay, Merlion Park and bustling downtown. For more relaxed days, within the gardens and grounds of Capella there are tennis courts, three swimming pools, a fitness centre, library and an adults-only spa.

Our top tip: watch the tropical sunset from Bob Bar's outdoor terrace.

Six Senses Duxton

In the central Tanjong Pagar district and the heart of Chinatown, Six Senses Duxton is both architecturally beautiful and perfectly located for exploring.

Throughout the property, stylish contemporary design is fused with the traditional grandeur of Singapore. Nowhere is this more evident than in the rooms, which range from the sleek and chic Nutmeg and Shophouse Rooms, to the range of Speciality Suites, all of which are individually designed to reflect a historic Singaporean period or style. Whether you prefer bright whites or warm reds and golds, there is something to suit everyone here, and all, of course, come with signature Six Senses luxury.

Guests can enjoy authentic and innovative Chinese cuisine at the hotel restaurant, Yellow Pot, which is as stylish and well designed as the rest of the hotel. Next door, sip on the signature 'Escape To Kaifeng' cocktail in the moody saloon bar.

With Singapore's buzzing street scene on the doorstep, guests at Six Senses Duxton will spend most of their time out and about exploring. That said, complimentary morning yoga sessions are held twice a week and there are a selection of holistic and herbal experiences to get involved with alongside the wellness team.
