What we came up with

This is one for the adventurers, who like their creatures, and their creature comforts. A combination of ancient temple sites, time to explore the rainforest of Borneo in search of orangutan, and stunning beaches, with great snorkelling and diving within reach.

Itinerary Highlights

  • Central Java - 3 days
The heart of Java is home to some truly stunning temples, including the enigmatic Buddhist stupa of Borobudur, and ancient Hindu temples of Prambanan. Begin your time in Indonesia with a stay at the luxurious Amanjiwo, overlooking ancient Borobudur itself. Explore the temples (hint: head to Borobudur at sunrise for a serene experience), visit local villages, and enjoy martini's in the rice fields as the sun sets.
  • Tanjung Puting National Park - 3 days
Fly to Kalimantan, on the island of Borneo, to explore the lush rainforest of the Tanjung Puting National Park. Spend your time aboard a private Klotok Houseboat, cruising the waterways of the Sekonyer River in search of wildlife. Look out for the bulbous nosed Proboscis Monkey and of course Orangutan, which can be spotted at feeding posts, and roaming the rainforest canopy.
  • Lombok - 5 days
After an adventurous time in the rainforest, it's time for some pure relaxation. The beautiful Tugu Hotel on Sire Beach, Lombok, makes the perfect end to the trip. Relax on powder white sand beaches and watch the local fisherman bring in their catch each morning. Enjoy traditional Sasak spa treatments, cookery classes or snorkel and dive trips to the idyllic Gili islands on the Tugu private Dragon boat.

A rough idea of price

A similar itinerary would cost in the region of £3250 per person which includes all flights, hotels, transfers and organised trips.

A note about prices

The guide prices shown are designed to provide you with a broad indication of how much to budget for your trip. Prices are generally for private arrangements using economy flights based on two people travelling together and sharing a room. There are a number of factors which will influence the price; these include the standard of accommodation, the season, the class of flights, the airline used and the level of private guiding versus shared excursions.
