Explore the Emerald Isle

We think it is the people, their innate charm and their hospitality that sets Ireland apart as a destination to visit. Especially as the Emerald Isle has so much to offer for all ages and interests. Discover the literary tradition dating back thousands of years, try your hand at sports such as Gaelic Football or Hurling, and if you are a keen golfer look no further - the courses here are quite spectacular, such as the dramatic setting of the Old Head Course Kinsale. All of our trips are tailor-made, but here is just a sample of some of our favourite Irish destinations and experiences.

Literary Legends

The UK is alive with literary history, from Bronte to Beatrix Potter; England has produced an abundance of authors, books and characters loved across the world. This hugely important part of our heritage was often shaped by our beautiful, mystical and rugged landscapes that inspired many novelists and poets. Follow in the footsteps of our literary greats by visiting some of our favourite fictional haunts from Great Britain's most loved authors, made even more special in 2017, the Year of Literary Heroes, with many milestone events taking place across the country.

Oba! Latin Culture Hits London

London Goes Latino!

If any continent could claim to be hot right now - and we're not talking temperature here - it's Latin America. Peruvian cuisine and Mexican street food have taken London by storm, while two of the capital's most venerable cultural institutions also have Latino destinations as their flagship exhibitions. Only slightly less artistic is the fancy footwork of the South American maestros Lionel Messi and Naymar lighting up the footballing world and Brazil, of course, hosts the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics. Our expert Latino team are waiting to book your trip of a lifetime to Latin America, but while you wait here's where to get a taste of South America at its finest.

The Guardian Travel Awards 2012

Having won previous Guardian Travel Awards, it was with a certain level of excitement and anticipation that Alastair Poulain (co-founder of Original Travel) set off for this year's ceremony in Ghent. Thanks to all the work and effort put in by the whole Original Travel team he was not let down! We won not one, but two awards, and both with a score of 100%!

Escape this October Half Term

After a few begrudged moans at the thought of endless traffic jams, no seats on tubes, and our glorious city being over run by too many tourists, we were in fact, proved wrong. We loved the Olympics and have been well and truly hit by the Olympic bug that spread far and wide. The 'Inspire a Generation' tagline has certainly rubbed off as well, with children suffering from a bout of Olympic fever just as much as their (not so) sporting elders.
