Luxury Hotels in Capri & Ischia

JK Place Capri

JK Place Capri is an attractive white villa dating from the late 19th century and a hotel since 1885, opened in its latest incarnation in 2007.

And what an incarnation it is - in our humble opinion this is one of the most stylish hotels anywhere in Europe, and as a result it does get busy so we would recommend booking well in advance.

All rooms are individually designed in a contemporary style with luxurious bathrooms, flatscreen TVs, DVD players and Wi-Fi internet access. Most have sea views, while others overlook the gardens.

Facilities include a gym, an outdoor swimming pool and a spa offering a range of treatments. The restaurant serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine on a large panoramic terrace, and there is also a bar.

The hotel's concierge can arrange guided walking tours, boat trips around the island or excursions to the Amalfi Coast, and a complimentary shuttle service is provided to take guests into Capri Town, a few minutes away.

Why We Love It

JK Place Capri is situated on a cliff-top overlooking the Marina Grande (main harbour) of Capri, with stunning views across the Bay of Naples to Mount Vesuvius.

Capri Palace

Situated at 900ft above sea level, the hotel has superb views over the Gulf of Naples and the nearby islands of Ischia and Procida.

The design is elegant and contemporary, with plenty of stone paving and cool white and ivory fabrics. Some of the suites have their own private swimming pools, gardens or terraces overlooking the Mediterranean and guests have a choice of three restaurants offering a range of formal and informal dining, including the Michelin-starred L'Olivo.

Other facilities include a large outdoor swimming pool and the 'Capri Beauty Farm', one of the most renowned spas in Europe, which offers a unique and patented series of treatments including thalassotherapy and mud therapy.

Why We Love It

This five-star hotel is located in Anacapri, on the slopes of Monte Solaro - the most exclusive and unspoilt part of the island of Capri.

Caesar Augustus

If you appreciate a good view and don't suffer from vertigo, the family-run Caesar Augustus on Capri might be the place for you.

The hotel itself sits on a cliff edge some 1,000ft above sea level, and on a clear day it's easy to see the entire Bay of Naples, including the neighbouring island of Ischia, the mainland town of Sorrento and the summit of Mount Vesuvius. As you can imagine, the hotel tries to bring such a spectacular view into the equation wherever possible, be that from most of the 53 rooms (of which over 40 are suites) or by the beautiful two-tier infinity pool. Also besides the pool is the Terrazza di Lucullo restaurant, specialising in Caprese and Neapolitan favourites, and there is also an elegant bar where guests can enjoy sunset cradling an expertly made bellini.

Why We Love It

The lifesize statue of Emperor Augustus Caesar at the hotel is a replica of the original in Rome, and was commissioned by exiled Russian Prince Emmanuel Bulhak, whose home this was.

Mezzatorre Resort & Spa

The hotel is located in Forio d'Ischia, on the north-western side of the island of Ischia, in the Bay of Naples.

Some of the rooms are located in a restored historic tower while others are in the more modern buildings surrounding it. Superior rooms have large balconies with sea views, and the suites come with private gardens.

A seawater swimming pool is located on one of the terraces, and a path to the sea allows access to San Montano Bay. The spa offers an exclusive range of treatments, and other facilities include a gym, sauna, Jacuzzi and tennis court. Two restaurants offer regional and international cuisine, as well as a wide range of top quality wines, and there is a piano bar in the evenings.

Why We Love It

Perched on low cliffs and surrounded by seven hectares of pine trees, this hotel occupies one of the most beautiful and unspoilt corners of the island.
