Columbia Beach Resort is a five star hotel located in an enviable position - in the sheltered bay of Pissouri on Cyprus’s south coast.
Harriet is here to help give you the inside track.
There are 169 suites (some interconnecting), spread out over eleven different buildings across the landscaped gardens, all decorated and equipped to the highest standards and mostly with sweeping sea views. Paved pathways, shaded by bougainvillea and olive trees, can be found throughout the resort and lead the way to the sandy beach.
The central hub of the resort is the lagoon-style swimming pool, fringed with palm trees and sun terraces. There are seven restaurants offering à la carte or informal dining (alongside kid's menus) and the pool bar serves light snacks. Finding a spot for a tipple or two won't be a hard task as the resort boasts four bars.
The Hébe Spa, named after the Greek goddess of youth, houses a fully equipped gym, sauna, steam bath and indoor pool, and offers numerous therapies. For the more active, a full range of watersports are on offer at the beach, including windsurfing, scuba diving, sailing and water-skiing. There are also squash courts, two floodlit tennis courts and a bike centre.
Little ones are well catered for too. The Cub Life Crèche offers childcare for children from four months to four years, and The Den Kids Club offers a huge range of exciting activities - from fossil hunting to scrapheap challenge - for children aged four to twelve. The hotel's BabyEase list allows parents to order all manner of baby bits and bobs and the hotel will arrange for it to be in their room on arrival, leaving more packing space for the all important Peppa Pig paraphernalia. The hotel also offers and even kid's dinner parties, allowing parents a romantic evening meal for two, elsewhere.
