There’s not necessarily any rhyme or reason to why, but some destinations just lend themselves to luxury villas more than hotels. That’s categorically not to say that the so-called Isle of Serendipity doesn’t do a fine line in chic boutique hotels, because it absolutely does, it’s just that the luxury villas in Sri Lanka are some of the most lovely, romantic and downright indulgent in the world.
