Located in the heart of old Havana, Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski’s central location is ideal for exploring old Havana and the rest of the capital. This amazing structure – originally built as the first European styled shopping centre in Cuba – took 20 years to build, completed in 1917. In 2017, 100 years after it finished construction, the five-star Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski hotel opened, paying homage to its original purpose with a shopping mall on the ground floor selling designer brands.
This grand hotel includes 246 luxurious rooms and 50 suites. There are eight room categories across four middle floors, ranging from the Patio Room right up to the Presidential Suite. With tall ceilings, German, Swiss and Cuban design influences, and accents in pink and silver, Caribbean Sea-blue and dove grey, each room is luxurious with distinct character. Chic and elegant, the hotel sits in good contrast to the communist world that lingers outside its doors.
Overlooking the city is the hotel's magnificent roof top swimming pool and El Surtidor terrace and bar. This is the place to visit any time of the day - whether you want to while away a day relaxing poolside, or to simply finish up a day's exploring with a drink and a view.
There are a variety of culinary experiences within the hotel, such as Confluencias - the indoor/terrace restaurant that serves up a breakfast buffet in the mornings. Alternatively there is San Cristobal Panoramic Restaurant that specialises in Caribbean seafood with amazing views over Old Havana, or Constante Bar, located on the first floor providing the perfect space for lovers of cocktails and tapas. There is a lobby lounge and bar as well as a tobacco bar in the hotel.
Head to the hotel's Spa Albear by Resense for a relaxing treatment - from massages to something totally personalised - in a calm atmosphere. The spa features an indoor pool as well as a sauna, steam bath, cold water pool, and a solarium. There is also a fitness centre equipped with state-of-the-art Technogym machines for a workout while you look over Old Havana.
The El Surtidor terrace is the perfect location for watching the warm sunset each evening, while the lights of the city turn on one by one.
