Surrounded by the magnificent Great Barrier Reef, the distinctive Qualia resort combines unashamed luxury with harmonious design and a traditionally Aussie atmosphere.

Inspired by the island's landscape and natural resources, 60 individually designed pavilion rooms are set in landscaped eucalyptus groves across the private resort at the northern tip of Hamilton Island. Windward pavilions have sundrenched decks leading out to private plunge pools and sea views, while Leeward rooms face southwest to enjoy the sunset over the landscape and sea. The exclusive Beach House is larger, with two bedrooms, kitchenette, 10-seater dining room and 12ft infinity pool.

The Long Pavillion restaurant is framed by the main infinity-edged pool and serves elegant bar, tasting and bistro menus with premium wines. The more relaxed Pebble Beach is perfect for lunches, with a modern Australian menu utilising local organic produce. Cocktails and regional wines can be enjoyed around the pool from the restaurant bars at any time of day.

Two infinity pools gaze out over the horizon and are serviced by the Qualia's restaurants and bars. Many of the pavilions enjoy their own private plunge pools for exclusive peace and quiet. The in-house spa is a breezy sanctuary at the centre of the resort, offering guests six treatment rooms for total relaxation and pampering.

Qualia is perfectly located to explore the 74 beautiful Whitsunday islands from; boating, diving and snorkelling in the sheltered waters are all popular, with private charters and beach drop-offs readily available. Closer to home, kayaks, catamarans, electric golf buggies and bush walking trails allow guests to explore the surrounding area at their own pace and convenience.
