Tasmania Explorer & the Southern Cities

What we came up with

Explore the dramatic landscapes of Tasmania, unlike any other in Australia, where granite peaks, meet lakes and heath-covered mountains, as well as spotting unique wildlife including the eponymous Tasmanian Devil, before heading back to mainland Oz for a little city buzz in Sydney and some beachside R&R.

Itinerary Highlights

  • Peppers Seaport Hotel - 2 Days
On a bustling marine in Launceston lies Peppers Seaport Hotel, the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Tamar Valley. The valley is home to vineyards, orchards and forests, winding its way toward the Narawntapu National Park. Explore the stunning surrounds of foot, by bike or by helicopter, and spend downtime visiting vineyards and breweries, and indulging in delicious local cheese tasting platters.

  • Freycinet National Park - 4 Days
Swap your stay in the city for the rugged beauty of the Freycinet National Park, and hole up in the charming cabins at Freycinet Lodge, overlooking the deep blue ocean of Oyster Bay. From here, be sure to visit the sweeping arc of white sand in Wineglass bay (surely one of the world's most beautiful beaches), and explore the forests, bays and mountains of the national park on bushwalks, enjoy sea kayaking trips, fishing, wine tasting, or take to the skies on a scenic flight.

  • Hobart - 3 Days
Having worked up an appetite travel on to the city of Hobart, for a stay at luxurious boutique hotel The Islington, revelling in the stunning views of Mount Wellington from the beautifully maintained gardens, and indulging in a range of gastronomic treats. The clean air of Hobart makes this prime sustainable farming and vineyard territory, meaning that a host of foodie treats are on offer (including at the hotel's own organic restaurant, Islington Kitchen), and over 300 wineries to explore nearby.

  • Melbourne - 4 Days
The Lyall combines art and oriental design to bring a quirky vibe to this little retreat, in the heart of trendy South Yarra, Melbourne. With push bikes available from the hotel, it's possible to wheel off to explore this lively city your way. A cultural hub, Melbourne appeals to just about anyone, with a packed schedule of festivals, art exhibitions, and theatrical events. If it all gets a bit too much, The Lyall's spa will be sure to pamper the weariest of travellers.

  • Sydney - 4 Days
Overlooking Sydney Harbour and with spectacular views of the Opera House, the chic Park Hyatt is a tranquil oasis in which to relax after a day exploring the city. Explore a host of world class galleries and museums, walk over or sail under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, explore the Botanical Gardens, and perhaps take in a performance at the iconic Opera House herself. And if the hustle and bustle of city life becomes too much, retreat to the cool air of the simply stunning Blue Mountains, or the golden sandy shores of Manly.

  • Bouddi Peninsula, New South Wales - 3 Days
Finally, retreat to the Bouddi Peninsula and cosy up at the Pretty Beach House. Sandstone cliffs rise out of rainforest, where lush greeney meets golden sandy beaches and azure waters. Pretty Beach House is an exclusive hideaway with just four beautiful guest suites, and is the ideal spot for total relaxation and indulgence in some of the finest food and spa therapies around. For the adventurers amongst you, the chance to fish, walk, paddle board or learn about the Aboriginals on an Indigenous Cultural Tour are all on offer, making this an unforgettable experience.
