Nduara Loliondo was designed to celebrate Nomadic cultures around the world; the Mongolian Gers and Tanzania's very own Maasai bomas. The outcome of this heady mix of culture, style, comfort and wilderness is one of the most amazing camps you will ever see.

The tents of Nduaro Loliondo perch on the edge of wide and endless plains at Piyaya, on the southern plains of Loliondo. Being outside the official park boundaries, but still within the whole eco-system, allows greater freedoms usually only enjoyed by the locals. This is private Maasai land, and the camps agreement with the Maasai community has been in place for over 20 years.

Loliondo is surrounded by the big names in Tanzania - the Great Rift Valley, Ngorongoro, and the Serengeti - and is a wonderful place for a chance encounter with the wildlife that migrates through this area and experiencing Maasai life, whilst enjoying the serenity of plains well off the usual safari trail.

The communal yurts have enough light and air to do justice to the big skies and gentle climate of the Serengeti steppe, then revved up with re-invented Maasai motifs and materials - perfect for dreaming away the high noon, or cuddling up in the dark of an African night. The six guests tents themselves are traditional Meru-style tents furnished in bright textiles, sheepskins and leather, each with an adjoining bathroom with eco-flush loo and bucket shower.

Guests have their own private guide and a 4WD safari vehicle, and the camp offers picnic suppers, lunches, and scenic sundowners over the vast savannah. Other activities include walks lead by local Maasai morani, night drives, and Maasai cultural experiences, visiting local villages, or the primary school in Loliondo.
