Motswiri Camp is located in the world renowned Selinda Reserve, an area of over 120,000 acres of pristine African bush, and is a charming and comfortable base from which to explore this area.
Accommodation is comprised of five large luxury tents, including one family tent, overlooking the Selinda Spillway, where the elephants regularly come to bathe in the afternoons. The main area of the camp has a large, comfortable sitting area with separate dining room, and there is also a small plunge pool for those balmy October afternoons.
Motswiri Camp has carved a name for itself in Botswana for offering safaris packed full of adventure, specialising in both walking and riding safaris (experienced riders only). With no set departures and everything tailored around each guest, a stay at Motswiri is entirely flexible and due to the range of activities, it suits a variety of interests.
The riding is superb in the reserve. The terrain is a mix of open flood plain, dry savannah and riverine bush, resulting in great change in pace and experiences as each day evolves. There are approximately twenty horses at the camp, ranging from Thoroughbreds to Boerperds, Arabs and Kalahari crosses, large to small.
Both the walking and riding activities can be interspersed with fishing and swimming, mekoros, canoeing and boating along the spillway, and the reserve's diverse vegetation results in superb bird watching, It is also home to giraffe, zebra, tsessebe, lion, leopard, cheetah and the rare roan antelope, sable and wild dog. Large herds of elephant and buffalo also migrate through the reserve during the year.
The pace is fairly fast at Motswiri Camp, so riders must be experienced. Non-riders are welcome however, and can go on boating, walking and driving safaris.
