Icelandic Adventure
IcelandThe perfect time to visit an exceptional destination. There are permanent glaciers on which to enjoy snowy sports such as snowmobiling, but also long sunny days to try a host of other outdoor activities from trekking to riding and fishing. Reykjavik is also as fun as ever in summer.
-
Tuscany & Umbria
ItalyThe Palio, one of Europe’s most spectacular pageants, takes place on the 2nd July in the Piazza del Campo in Siena. After a procession little changed since the Middle Ages, riders representing the contrada or city wards race bareback on specially bred horses around the square three times, with the race normally over in a few short – but thoroughly memorable – minutes.
-
Borneo Adventure
MalaysiaSouth East Asia is pretty much off limits in UK summer but there is an exception, and an exceptional destination it is too. Borneo is something to a law unto itself, with the weather spot on in July, and new species of beasties still being discovered to this day. It’s also fruiting season in the jungle so a great time to see said beasties in action.
