Idyllic Italy

Thank you, we had the MOST fantastic time. I can’t speak highly enough of either the Villa d’Este or the Four Seasons in Florence; just perfect. And I see the Villa d’Este has just been voted best hotel in the world by Forbes magazine (no relation unfortunately!). Villa d’Este upgraded us to a huge junior suite with 2 bathrooms, champagne etc etc. We loved every minute of it all. The staff and service at the 4 Seasons too was unbelievable, I’ve never been made to feel so welcome at a hotel. It was so sad to leave!

Borgo Santo Pietro is breathtaking in terms of its design and landscaping and has the picture perfect Tuscan view. From our point of view, the fact that the food has so little local influence (the chef was Danish) was a let down, though we found some good places nearby with more gutsy Italian fare.

But otherwise we had the happiest time, so thank you for all your organising and booking and recommendations. If I can give you any more specific feedback, only too happy to.
