Honeymoon Kenya & Zanzibar

We totally loved all the places we visted during this once in a lifetime honeymoon in Kenya and it was really hard to leave each of them. I think Ol Lentille was perhaps our favourite in terms of setting, location, activities and accommodation. John and Jill who ran Ol lentille were lovely and they had some fantastic staff working for them.

Sasaab was great fun as we went into the reserve each day and we had a guide and spotter to ourselves as there were no other people staying there. The food at Sasaab we thought was the best of the three places.

Governors was quite different to the other two places in that there were more people staying there and we had to share our guide with another couple. However the location, right in the middle of the Masai Mara reserve was fabulous, we had hippos just below our tent on the river and the game that we saw on the drives we took each day was by far the best - we saw so many lions….!

And, of course, Mnemba is totally out of this world! We were so pleased that the other place was a disaster as it meant we could have more nights at Mnemba, even 6 nights wasn’t enough! We can’t wait to go back again! The food was the best food we have ever eaten and we couldn’t believe how accommodating they were with our requests. The diving was great too, we did one dive each morning which was a lovely start to the day. The only downside with the place is that time just seemed to go by too quickly…..

So, we are very sad to be back but I think if we had stayed anywhere any longer, we would not be able to fit into any of our clothes…way to much lovely food!
