Dive Fundu Lagoon
Tanzania
Located on Pemba Island, just to the north of Zanzibar, Fundu Lagoon is the essence of ‘bare-foot luxury’ and a secluded and peaceful retreat with over two miles of private beach and stunning ocean views.
Designed to be eco-friendly, the lodge blends into the natural environment and is only accessible by boat. Fundu has a fully-equipped PADI dive centre, and is famed for the excellent organisation of the dive team, who know the dive sites in the area intimately.
Nearby to the hotel is Mesali, a marine sanctuary with 320 coral varieties, amazing snorkelling and even more amazing diving.
Alternative itineraries include day-trip dive safaris to the north or south of Pemba, complete with lunch on deserted white sand beaches. To the south there are excellent dive sites but also the incredibly picturesque Emerald Lagoon, more often than not dotted with photogenic dhows.
The best dive of all, and particularly on an incoming tide, is Mapanduzi where you can drift along a wall and see schools of hammerheads or barracuda coming in on the strong currents.
Testimonials
'It was such a great place and we dived and fished to our hearts content…the accommodation was gorgeous and the fact that we didn`t wear a pair of shoes for 10 days was a complete delight.'

Thank you so so much for the suggestion/organisation. I could see that the opportunity for cock ups in the arrangements was huge given that we had three different airplanes, a car and a boat to get there, all...
