Desert Rose
Desert Rose is situated in the far North of Kenya, a small family hosted lodge nestled 6000ft into the side of Mount Nyiru.This sacred mountain has fresh water springs, cedar forests and a river that runs from the top of the mountain all the way down into the luggas down on the desert floor.
Desert Rose is all about the space, the views, the scenery and the people. With the added advantage of having a cessna plane on their doorstep, it is also possible to explore all the craters, volcanoes, lakes, luggas and mountains and the incredible Lake Turkana from the air, returning to the cool green mountain every evening. Alternatively, Desert Rose is the perfect place to stay for a night if doing a helicopter safari up to the Northern Frontiers district and Lake Turkana.
Activities on offer include hiking, river sliding, picnics and sundowners in stunning locations, yoga, bird walks, authentic cultural visits, camel safaris, and air safari adventures to Lake Turkana.
There are 5 thatched charming hand crafted cottages, with huge comfy wild olive beds and all with en suite open air bathrooms and plenty of steaming hot water to have a long starlit soak! The swimming pool and the dining room, lounge and decks all have amazing views down over the valley and plains and are furnished with the fabulous olive and cedar woodwork that makes Desert Rose so unique.
