Each of the 172 rooms and suites faces the sea and enjoys the services of a private butler. Inside, the décor is distinctively Mexican, with colourful cushions brightening up the rooms and delicate wrought iron pre-Hispanic sculptures adorning many of the public spaces. Flat screen televisions and Bose surround sound systems are among the standard amenities and the enormous bathrooms feature dramatic sculptured baths and rain showers.

The popular Market Restaurant offers delicious local seafood or the more casual Agua serves innovative ‘Mexiterranean’ cuisine in an open palapa overlooking the Sea of Cortez. No need to ditch the diet while on holiday here either – the tasty spa menu is always available for the more health-conscious.

As for activities, there is plenty to keep the whole family occupied. For the adults, there is an amazing spa, and the kids can enjoy all sorts of games and sports on offer at the superb KidsOnly Club, which include yoga, beach volleyball and tug of war, along with more Mexican themed activities such as piñata making classes, cooking lessons and even Spanish lessons.
